Faux orchid arrangements made by hand in my Toronto studio, each one built for the room it is going in. They need no water and no light, and they hold their colour and shape for years.

Orchids you can order right now run from $350 for the mini clay-vase arrangement, through the footed bowl at $675, up to $775 for the waterfall piece. If you want something larger, or in a particular colour, a custom orchid arrangement usually lands between $500 and $1,000. Orchids suit a spot where a real plant would struggle: a powder room with no window, a console in a hallway, a reception desk nobody has time to water. There is no pollen and nothing to look after.
